ORB Legacy

It took a lifetime to build.

It takes one plan to make it last.

We design life insurance the way estates are designed. Deliberately.

Why ORB Legacy

Wealth changes shape. Make sure it holds.

The day an estate settles, the CRA treats everything you own as sold, and the tax on a lifetime of growth lands at once. Families sell buildings, shares, and whole companies just to pay it. The plan that prevents that is placed years earlier, and costs pennies on the dollar.

Formed. Not scattered.
Who we serve

Built for people with something to protect.

Families & individuals

Estate liquidity, so what you own passes whole. No forced sales, no fire-sale prices.

Business owners

Funded buy-sell and key person coverage. The company stays in the family, and control stays at your table.

Physicians

Straight answers on term versus permanent. Coverage sized to the life you carry, not the pitch.

Executives

Coverage that does not end with the job. Group policies stay behind when you move. Yours moves with you.

What we build

Three ways gold holds its shape.

Estate liquidity

The policy pays the tax bill, so the estate never has to. Your heirs keep the property, the portfolio, the business. The CRA gets a cheque, not a company.

Business continuity

A partner's death should not make their family your new partner. Funded agreements settle it cleanly, at a price agreed while everyone is alive.

Family protection

For the years the mortgage, the tuition, and the practice loans are real, coverage that simply pays. Term done right is not a lesser product. It is the right tool, sized honestly.

The covenant

Our covenant, sealed.

Press and hold to seal it.

  • We advise before we recommend.
  • You will understand every page before you sign.
  • Ask what we earn, and we will tell you.
  • No pressure. Ever. A no is a fine answer.
The process

Quiet, and in this order.

Step 1

The consultation

A private conversation about what you own, what you owe, and who it is all for. No product talk.

Step 2

The design

We model the strategies side by side, in plain numbers, and pressure-test them against your estate plan.

Step 3

The stewardship

Life changes. We review the design with you as it does, for as long as you hold it.

Questions we actually get

Asked, answered.

The honest versions, the ones people ask once they trust the room.

Are you going to push whole life on me? +

No. Term, whole, and universal are tools, and each has a job. Most families need a mix weighted heavily toward term. If permanent coverage is not doing real estate work for you, we will say so.

I have coverage through work. Isn't that enough? +

Group coverage is usually one to two times salary, and it stays behind when you leave. It is a good start and a poor finish.

I thought there was no estate tax in Canada? +

Canada does not tax the inheritance. It taxes you, one final time. The day you die, the CRA treats everything you own as sold, and every gain you never cashed comes due at once, with probate on top. Your family does not get a tax bill. They get what is left after yours. The policy pays that final bill with tax-free dollars, so what is left is everything.

How are you paid? +

By the carriers, when a policy is placed. You are not billed for our advice, and your premium is the same whether you come through us or go direct. And yes, permanent policies pay us more than term. That is precisely why it matters that we tell you when term is the right answer. Ask what any recommendation pays us and you will get a number.

How long does this take? +

The conversation costs an hour. A placed policy typically takes four to eight weeks, and we carry the paperwork.
